What is the difference between DMS EZI Pro and Lite?
The main difference is that the pro version comes with a 2mb flash, the lite only has 128kb. this allows the installation of homebrew app's to be stored on the chip, the lite would require them to be loaded from a cd. |

[ALL] Can the same bios be used in both PRO and SX?
NO. There are different bios versions available for PRO and SX. They follow the same version number though.
[ALL] Does qoob work with the Panbasonic cube?
YES. Bios version 1.2+ supports Panasonic gamecube.
[ALL] I downloaded the bios from qoobchip.com but I cant play backups. Why?
Since there is no way for the chip to determine whether a backup is legitimate or not we have not added this feature to our bios releases.
[ALL] Can I burn my game compilation on ISO9660 fs?
NO. Everything with streaming audio or video will not work on ISO9660. Homebrew applications, demos, mp3s, etc should be burned on ISO9660 format fs.
[ALL] How much can I burn on one DVD, and is there any way to increase the amount of data?
Most GC's can read the first 1.4GB or so of data. This is due to the size of original gamecube discs and is not limited by the chip. So there is no way to increase the amount of data beyond this.
[PRO] Why do I have to use the Action Replay once to enable the cheat code system?
Cheat codes are commonly published in a format used by Action Replay. We felt that making a cheat engine that uses these codes would be the same as copying the Action Replay. We understand that the makers of Action Replay spent a lot of time and money on developing their product, and also publishing cheats for it. That is why the bios requires an original Action Replay once.
[PRO] What about flashing software for Mac OsX, Linux, *BSD?
We are working on a tarball that should compile on most of these systems.
[SX] What if something goes wrong when flashing? Is there a recovery bios?
YES, there is one 64k bank with a recovery bios on the SX chip. |
